Aqua Pure Technologies' Pure Water Coolers use reverse osmosis to purify your drinking water by taking out the total dissolved solids (TDS) that contaminate your water system. Although city water treatment removes dirt and debris, it does not remove the dissolved solids. Increasing pollution of our surface and ground water produces contaminants such as lead, mercury and chromium-6 in our drinking water. Naturally occurring contaminants including arsenic, fluorides, and sulfides also can be found in our tap water. Public water supplies often are injected with high levels of chlorine to control bacteria outbreaks. Constant exposure to chlorine over time has been known to comprise the human immune system. It is more important than ever to remove these contaminants at the point of use.
Drink pure water free of contaminants!
The World Health Organization (WHO) has published Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality, which discusses some of the health concerns involved in drinking bottled water. According to the WHO:
“Some substances may prove more difficult to manage in bottles than in tap water. This is generally because bottled water is stored for longer periods and at higher temperatures than water distributed in piped distribution systems. Control of materials used in containers and closures for bottled waters is, therefore, of special concern. In addition, some micro-organisms, which are normally of little or no public health significance, may grow to higher levels in bottled waters.”
The Natural Resources Defense Council conducted a four-year scientific study on bottled water in the United States. Their in-depth study found that about one-third of the bottled water tested contained levels of contamination ---including synthetic organic chemicals, bacteria, and arsenic ---in at least one sample, the contamination exceeded allowable limits under either state or bottled water industry standards.
Recent research also suggests that the plastic in water bottles could pose a health risk. Studies have shown that chemicals, called phthalates, which are known to disrupt testosterone and other hormones, can seep into bottled water over time. Although there are regulatory standards that limit phthalates in tap water, there are no limits for phthalates in bottled water.
A 2008 Associated Press investigation of 28 metropolitan areas found pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications — including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans. Reverse Osmosis removes virtually all pharmaceutical contaminents from your drinking water.
An unique system of separating the contaminated from the pure water
Reverse Osmosis membranes used in Aqua Pure Technologies water filtration systems can, on average, remove 95% of dissolved contaminants from water and provide you and your employees with great tasting, clean and safe water for drinking. The table on the right describes the typical contaminant removal rate from Aqua Pure Technologies’ Pure Water Coolers. |
